Habtamu Mellie Bizuayehu
Dr. Bizuayehu is an epidemiologist at the First Nations Cancer & Wellbeing Research Program at the University of Queensland. His focus is on cancer research among Indigenous peoples, studying cancer epidemiology, treatment patterns and outcomes in Australia and globally. Previously, Dr. Bizuayehu worked at Cancer Council Queensland and Debre Markos University.
With expertise in managing large datasets and advanced statistical analyses, his skills include longitudinal data analysis, causal modelling, multilevel analysis, survival analysis, and missing data analysis. Additionally, he has experience supervising and mentoring students and junior staff.
Dr. Bizuayehu's research interests span cancer, Indigenous peoples' health, cancer, health equity, and maternal and child health. He has authored and co-authored over 32 peer-reviewed articles that have been cited over 10,000 times. He holds a PhD in Public Health and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and also graduated with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health.
