Carmen Larkin
Carmen is a Registered Nurse at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and divides her time between the Medical Oncology Ward and the Patient Experience and Wellbeing team coordinating the Carer Support Program. Carmen completed her Masters of Nursing at the University of Melbourne and post-graduate specialisation in Cancer Nursing in 2023.
She has a particular interest in improving the assessment and early intervention of supportive care needs of individuals living with cancer and their carers, and incorporates this both through her nursing practice and in her role as Carer Support Officer.
As Carer Support Officer, Carmen is the primary point of contact for carers referred to the Carer Support Program, completes needs assessments with carers, refers them to internal and external services and facilitates a monthly support group for carers at Peter Mac
