Prasad Cooray
Prasad is committed to the pursuit of excellence in patient-centred medical care.
He graduated from Monash University (MBBS Hons) in 1996, having spent an additional undergraduate year in laboratory-based research, which led to a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons) degree, an undergraduate research award, and several publications on platelet functioning and cell signalling. Prasad completed his specialty training at Melbourne’s Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, as well as The Austin and The Alfred Hospitals.
Patients under Prasad's care benefit from an extensive network of medical specialists and his dedication to coordinating care across multiple specialties. He is actively involved in cancer clinical trials.
For Prasad, oncology offers a privileged opportunity to treat, educate, and empower patients. In 2014, he established Yarra Oncology, a dedicated cancer practice that enhances his ability to advocate for cancer patients and deliver best practice cancer care.
